Abbasid Tradition

The Khalili Collection contains the largest range of Qur'anic material in private hands. The Qur'ans in this collection are described and illustrated in four volumes, of which this is the first; it covers the 8th to the 10th centuries. This catalogue combines examples of detailed scholarship covering the history of the subject.
