Language of Self

This book explores the portrayal of subjectivity in DeLillo's fiction, proposing that his characters' conception of self is determined by a tension between desire for connection and longing for isolation. The form taken by this language of self is shown to be shaped by and created through an interaction with larger, social constructions of agency.
