Journey to the West

This adaptation of a 16th-century Chinese comic novel is based on the true story of a 7th-century monk and his fabled 16-year pilgrimage from China to India in search of sacred texts. Mixing whimsy with spiritual weight, Zimmerman's script delivers comedy, adventure, satire and allegory.
