Under the terms of the Convention on the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping of Wastes and Other Matter, the IAEA is the organisation with the responsibility for defining high level radioactive wastes unsuitable for dumping at sea. This document contains the second revised Definition and Recommendations, established in 1985.
