Modern Norwegian Literature 1860-1918

This 1966 survey of the 'classic' period of Norwegian literature was the first book in English devoted to the period. Beginning with a historical survey, it turns to the individual authors, grouping minor figures together. Bjornson and Ibsen naturally dominate the account, but the context is kept in view.
