Observations on the State of Society among the Asiatic Subjects of Great Britain

Charles Grant (1746-1823) spent many years in the service of the East India Company, eventually serving three times as its chairman. In this work, written in 1792 after his return from India but first published in 1797, he advocates the need for evangelisation in new territorial acquisitions.
