Examples of where the different types of rocks mentioned can be found include places that are familiar to a child's local environment, such as soil in a garden, marble in tiles, diamonds in jewellery, fossils on a beach, but also found in exciting places such as the Crystal Caves in Mexico and the prehistoric woolly mammoth body in Siberia.
