Subtitling Matters

This book proposes a new approach to the learning of foreign languages through subtitled audiovisual input. The research draws on acquisitional studies of English syntax by Italian learners to reveal the impact of subtitling on the learning of linguistics structures, raising challenging questions about the pedagogic applications of subtitling.
