The lakeside friends

Larry the Lizard, Tommy the Toad, Dilly Duck and Rens the Rat are the lakeside friends. They love to picnic and swim in the lake together, and they get up to all sorts of adventures. In this story Rens' hat seems to be enchanted when it begins to squeak and move. A moment later the hat is running away and the friends are in hot pursuit.
